Landscape and green infrastructure

100 participants acquaint themselves with projects and initiatives from the border region at the first project forum of the Three Countries Park in the parliament of Belgium’s German-speaking community.

Regional products, village contests and biotope networks – throughout the Euregio, various exciting projects are making an important contribution to the sustainable development and enhancement of the landscape and green infrastructure. Ten projects were presented from Wallonia and Flanders, the CityRegion Aachen and the Dutch province of Limburg. The participants also learned about the topics and activities of the Three Countries Park.

The newly published book on the project “Landscape Policy for the Three Countries Park”, which was supported by funds from the EU’s ESPON programme, was also presented for the first time and handed out to a larger audience. Lively discussions during the breaks showed that there is huge interest in cross-border networking and provided an opportunity to establish contacts for future cooperation.
